Alan Holliday Pty Ltd is a specialist town planning approvals consultancy firm.
That’s all we do and we care immensely about achieving project successes.
No matter how large or small a project, we understand that the success of that project is the most important thing to the client who is about to embark upon the risk. Our mission is to minimise that risk and achieve a successful outcome.
The company generates most business from word-of-mouth referrals through established client networks. We take particular care and pride in personalising our services, which generally leads to new client relationships and ensures that we maintain those relationships.
Alan Holliday is the firm’s principal. Alan has a Degree in Planning and a Diploma in Town Planning from RMIT University, as well as a Senior Certificate in Local Government Management from Canberra University.
With over 30 years experience, Alan is one of Queensland’s most experienced town planners. Alan has worked since the 1980’s as an urban planner and senior manager in local and State government organisations and as a consultant to the private and public sectors in Queensland and Victoria. He has advised Government Ministers and prepared Cabinet Papers and submissions. Alan is politically savvy and has a unique understanding of political and planning processes.
Alan has coordinated and managed multi-disciplinary professional teams on projects as diverse as environmental impact studies for major projects, local and regional strategic plans, structure plans, urban master plans, feasibility studies and other similar projects. The projects involved detailed programming, resource planning, budgeting, staff management and project performance management.
Alan also has extensive experience in appearing as an expert witness before a variety of Planning Tribunals and Courts in Queensland and Victoria.
The focal point of Alan’s professional advice is the application of sound town planning principles and risk assessments. If a project infringes town planning principles or presents a high risk profile, Alan will always advise the client of the circumstances before accepting the project. Alan also reserves the right to decline a project if he believes that it cannot be justified on town planning grounds.
This strategy works well and has established high credibility for the firm, with a development approvals success rate exceeding 99.5% over the past decade.
